Today, more than 1,400 people work for Rottendorf Pharma. Founded in Berlin in 1928 by Andreas Rottendorf, the company moved its production and administrative headquarters to Ennigerloh in the Münsterland region in 1949 – the home region of its founder.

Since 1974, Rottendorf Pharma has been foundation-managed, with the Rottendorf Foundation supporting charitable causes. The company has also maintained a presence in the United States since 2011.
