Boehringer Ingelheim Granted East Bay Innovation Award
Boehringer Ingelheim Fremont Inc. announced it has received the East Bay Innovation Award 2014 for its contribution to East Bay’s culture of innovation. The company was awarded in the field-specific Advanced Manufacturing category.
Michael Howaldt, Vice President, Biopharmaceuticals Operations USA and Fremont Site Head, said, “We are very pleased to receive this award that recognizes our achievements in innovation and our contribution to the Bay Area. The East Bay Innovation Award is co-sponsored by The East Bay Economic Development Alliance and the San Francisco Business Times. Field Specific categories include clean tech, food, ICT, engineering and design, life sciences, and advanced manufacturing. It is also described as the utilization of cutting-edge materials and emerging capabilities from the physical and biological sciences to produce incremental or breakthrough innovative products.
