Anacor And Sandoz Enter $40 Million Partnership For Antifungal Solution

Anacor Pharmaceuticals and Sandoz have inked an agreement, in which Sandoz’s dermatology business PharmaDerm will distribute and commercialize Anacor's antifungal drug Kerydin (tavaborole) topical solution in the United States. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the solution for the treatment of onychomycosis of the toenails earlier this month.

What Will Latest Price Caps In India Mean For Big Pharma?

India's pharmaceutical pricing regulator NPPA has cut and capped the prices of more than 100 drugs that treat diseases ranging from diabetes to HIV to malaria. The price cap, which officially took effect on July 11, 2014, is aimed to make essential medicines more affordable and accessible in India, where 70 percent of the population lives in extreme poverty and nearly all of its population is without health insurance.

Purdue Pharma's Pain Med Gets FDA Priority Review Status

On Tuesday, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) granted priority review to Purdue Pharma’s once-daily, single-entity hydrocodone bitartrate tablet (HYD). The company’s investigational pain medication is designed to make it difficult for people to abuse, either through chewing, snorting, or intravenous means, according to Purdue’s announcement.
