Outsourced Bioprocessing By Geography

In Q2 of 2022, ISR asked 100 bioprocessing outsourcers to estimate the proportion of their contracted bioprocessing that is performed in each region. When analyzing the results by the respondents’ locations, those from North America and Western Europe conduct half of all outsourced bioprocessing in their home country. One-quarter of outsourced bioprocessing efforts are sponsored in America and manufactured in Europe, and vice versa. European respondents report outsourcing slightly more bioprocessing to China on average, while American respondents send more work to Japan and other Asia-Pacific manufacturing facilities (excluding China and India).
