Novartis Capabilities Update October 2026: Large Molecule

Choosing a contract manufacturing partner for a large molecule program is as much a decision about people as it is about capacity. This session makes the case that predictable outcomes come from experienced teams who own the transfer, backed by a global network with the scale to carry a molecule from clinical supply through commercial launch and beyond.

Novartis Contract Manufacturing brings 100+ years of experience making medicines and 40+ years of GMP expertise in biologics contract manufacturing. Our network spans more than 20 sites across Asia, Europe, and the US, covering biologics, cell and gene, xRNA, small molecules, and fill & finish. For large molecules specifically, we offer mammalian and microbial drug substance capacity from pilot scale to 40,000 L, including N-1 perfusion-equipped stainless steel and single-use trains across Kundl/Schaftenau, Huningue, Basel, Menges, Singapore, and our North Carolina expansion. Quality underpins all of it — over 120 successful inspections annually and more than 50 global manufacturing lines.

This presentation outlines how we deliver phase-appropriate support across the large molecule lifecycle: upstream and downstream process development, small-scale models and process characterization, structured tech transfer of USP/DSP and analytical methods, process validation and PPQ, and clinical-to-commercial supply. We will also share how we are intensifying fed-batch manufacturing through hybrid N-1 perfusion to raise productivity to increase flexibility and support demands.

Join Sheik Abdul Hafidz, Director Business Development CMO, as he walks through the Novartis Contract Manufacturing large molecule manufacturing network, the capabilities behind it, and the delivery track record that makes us an extension of your team.
