In a recent collaboration, West partnered with SK Pharmteco to investigate the impact of vial material on the stability of adeno-associated virus (AAV) serotypes used in cell and gene therapy applications. Specifically, they focused on comparing the stability of AAV8 and AAV9 in Daikyo Crystal Zenith (CZ) vials and two commercially available borosilicate glass containers.

To assess the stability, the vials were subjected to various stress and storage conditions. The study aimed to determine if the vial material had any influence on the viral titer and particle counts of the AAV serotypes.
