Don't Miss The Networking Event Of The Year!

By Ed Miseta, Chief Editor, Clinical Leader

Next week, Life Science Leader and Outsourced Pharma are hosting our first conference, an event called Outsourced Pharma West to be held in San Francisco. As Rob Wright, Life Science Leader chief editor pointed out in a recent blog, we didn’t want this conference to be like many others you have attended. We set out with the goal of having informative sessions and some of the best speakers in the pharma world, but also to make it an event where you can easily connect with partners and build your network.

Many of the ideas for the conference we got from readers like you. All of the session topics were determined via an extensive survey of our readership. In selecting our presenters, we sought out some of the most insightful pharma executives in the industry. If you check the list of speakers and sessions, I’m sure you’ll agree we hit the mark. Our partners agree as well, and we were able to completely sell out the show floor.

Here are a few of the sessions/presenters we were able to put together:

For our session on Qualifying CDMO Capabilities, we have Firelli Alonso-Caplen, the Senior Director of Biotherapeutics & Vaccines at Pfizer and Heidi Hoffmann, Senior Director of Manufacturing at Sutro Biopharma.

The session on Maximizing Pharma Partnerships will feature Christopher Haskell, Head US Science Hub at Bayer Healthcare.

Peter Bigelow, President of xCell Strategic Consulting will moderate a panel on Building An Outsourcing Infrastructure that will feature Michele Johnson, Director of Supply Relationships at Sandoz and Bob Kanuga, VP of External Manufacturing at Merck.

Our session on Establishing A Quality Agreement will feature Courtney Billington, VP of Global Pharmaceutical Supply Chain for Johnson & Johnson, E.J. Brandreth, VP of Quality at Inovio Pharmaceuticals, and Ulrich Ernst, SVP Manufacturing & Quality Operations, Amunix Pharmaceuticals.

And those are just some on the sessions we will have on day one of the conference. Day two will feature Andy Skibo, EVP Operations and RVP for MedImmune and AstraZeneca, Patrick Murphy, VP of Manufacturing for Versartis, Saharsh Davuluri, Director & President of Contract Research at Neuland Labs, James Henshilwood, Sr Director of API Process Development and Manufacturing at InterMune, and many more.
