Daikyo Crystal Zenith® (CZ) Ready-To-Use Nested Vial In Tub: Advantages Of New Design And Packaging Configuration Of Crystal Zenith® Vials For Cell And Gene Therapy Drugs

Cell and gene therapies are increasingly being used as treatment options for complex diseases. However, the biopharma industry is facing challenges in scaling up manufacturing and logistics to meet the demand for these therapies. To address this issue, West Pharmaceutical Services is offering Daikyo Crystal Zenith (CZ) nested vials as a primary packaging solution for these therapies.
The CZ nested vials are made of high-quality cyclic olefin polymer and have been proven to be compatible with gene therapy drug products. Compared to traditional glass vials, these vials offer a reduced risk of breakage. They also have a rigid structure that protects the vials during transit and are compatible with various fill/finish equipment.
These nested vials are available in 2 mL and 10 mL sizes and can be sealed with different stoppering solutions. They meet ISO exterior dimensions and can be used for other drug products as well, making them versatile for various applications.
The CZ nested vials have been tested and proven to be effective in storing adeno-associated virus (AAV) at ultracold temperatures. This is important as AAV is commonly used in gene therapy applications.
