Fewer Setbacks, Faster To IND
Cy Credille is a Group Leader in the process chemistry group at Cambrex Longmont, where he leads projects spanning the full arc of early-phase development. His work covers process discovery chemistry R&D, pre-IND through NDA-enabling research, the development of scalable and ICH-compliant routes to API, kilo-lab synthesis of API, and late-stage process development.
That breadth places him where discovery chemistry meets manufacturing reality — the transition at which a route that works on the bench has to work at scale, under regulatory constraint, and against a clinical timeline.
Asked how developers can shorten the path from preclinical to Phase 1 or 2, Credille points to experience rather than any single technique. Early development brings hiccups and hurdles as a matter of course, and his team is accustomed to rolling with them. Having encountered these problems before means having solutions ready — and a molecule that keeps moving toward the IND finish line.
