Alerion™ Microbubble Cell Separation System: An Innovative Approach To T Cell Negative Selection

CCS case study

In this study, CCS conducted a head-to-head evaluation study comparing the Alerion™ Microbubble Cell Separation System, used with the BioRise™ consumable and Akadeum’s negative selection Human T Cell Leukopak Isolation Kit, against a standard magnetic-based positive selection kit and its corresponding instrument.

Apheresis material was collected from two healthy donors, and then washed according to CCS’s standard washing procedure. The washed apheresis material from each donor was divided and processed using either the microbubble or magnetic separation protocols, following each manufacturer’s instructions. Approximately 7 billion total cells were processed per method to ensure a robust comparison.

Uncover how the Alerion™ Microbubble Cell Separation System for enhanced T cell recovery and streamlined workflows provided superior performance and scalability — achieving higher cell quality, faster, with Akadeum’s advanced microbubble technology.
