Alcami Capabilities Update August 2026: Oral Solid Dose Formulation

Source: Alcami

Pharmaceutical companies supplying multiple markets must balance product availability with fluctuating demand, country-specific packaging requirements and the risk of obsolete inventory. Late-stage customization offers a more flexible approach by separating blister production from final market configuration.

Using drop-on-demand digital printing, tablets can be packaged and sealed in market-neutral blisters, which are then held as safety stock. Once demand from a specific market is confirmed, the required language and market-specific information can be printed directly onto the blister foil before the product is completed with the corresponding secondary packaging components.

This webinar will explore how this postponement strategy can help pharmaceutical companies respond more quickly to changing market needs, support smaller or less predictable order volumes and reduce reliance on multiple inventories of finished, market-specific packs. It will also examine the operational and quality considerations required to implement late-stage customization successfully while maintaining product integrity, print accuracy and regulatory compliance.
