Lung cancer accounts for 23% of all cancer deaths, making it the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in American adults.1 Traditional treatment methods for advanced cases of lung cancer often include a combination of surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy. Because many of these treatments are administered either orally or through intravenous infusion or injection, they must travel through the entire body before reaching their targeted destination.
