The XS® Pichia pastoris (XS® Pichia) Expression System provides a solution that can help you overcome the challenges of traditional prokaryotic expression systems. As a eukaryotic host organism, Pichia is better able to fold and assemble complex proteins into functional molecules. Importantly, Pichia lacks endotoxins, and expresses soluble secreted protein rather than forming intracellular inclusion bodies, making recovery and downstream processing easier and efficient. XS® Pichia enables higher quality and purity proteins at high yield.

The XS® Pichia system is based on well-established wild-type Pichia pastoris strains with proven growth performance. These are complemented by proprietary strains that allow reduction in host cell impurities for leaner downstream processes and reduced proteolytic activity, to support the production of protease-sensitive therapeutic proteins.
