Eric Fang is General Manager of Snapdragon Chemistry, a Cambrex company, in Waltham, MA. He earned his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Toronto and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University. He began his career at Amgen as a process development scientist working on clinical-to-commercial APIs, then co-founded Snapdragon as Chief Scientific Officer, leading a multidisciplinary team building solutions for the biopharmaceutical industry.

An inventor and entrepreneur, he is a recognized leader in continuous manufacturing and liquid peptide technologies, with expertise spanning pharmaceutical process development and GMP manufacturing, flow and photochemistry, complex synthetic APIs, and automation and AI applications.

His answer to new development challenges rests on two investments. The first is technological — software, automation, and broader capability, all aimed at answering R&D questions more efficiently. The second is human: hiring talented scientists, then giving them the support and training that complex problems demand.
