Quantifying And Mapping ATP Distribution Within Tissues To Inform Targeted Therapeutic Strategies In Drug Development

Our research demonstrates the technical feasibility and promising potential of using ATP distribution and quantification as a reliable strategy to guide therapeutic targeting in drug development. By applying Quantitative Mass Spectrometry Imaging (QMSI) to measure ATP levels within tumor tissues, we validated the precision and robustness of this approach. Integrating QMSI with advanced software-generated calibration curves enabled an accurate, quantitative assessment of ATP concentrations across various tumor models.
These findings highlight the critical role of ATP mapping in supporting targeted therapy development. By visualizing the spatial distribution of ATP, we can identify regions of elevated metabolic activity within tumors — information that is invaluable for selecting appropriate preclinical models and optimizing therapeutic strategies.
