Myellama Therapeutics And Vaxcellbio Sign MOU
Myellama Therapeutics has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with Korean biotechnology company Vaxcellbio to co-develop therapies for multiple myeloma and other indications using its next-generation trispecific engager technology, developed with the National Research Council Canada (NRC).
This agreement establishes a global collaboration among the NRC, the University of Ottawa, Myellama, and Vaxcellbio. Under the MOU, Vaxcellbio and Myellama will jointly evaluate the NRC-developed NK cell engager as a standalone therapy and in combination with Vaxcellbio's allogeneic NK cells for the treatment of multiple myeloma.
The partners will assess anti-tumour efficacy and mechanisms of action using patient-derived samples from Korea and Canada in preclinical models. They will also explore advanced delivery technologies, including mRNA-based approaches.
These studies aim to advance the program toward global clinical development and commercialization. The NK cell engager is a next-generation immuno-oncology platform that binds both NK cells and tumour cells, enhancing NK cell recognition and cytotoxic activity against cancer cells.
By expanding its global R&D network with leading research institutions and biotechnology partners, Myellama aims to strengthen its technological competitiveness and accelerate the development of innovative immuno-oncology therapies for patients worldwide.
