Lukas Utiger, Ph.D., President And Chief Executive Officer, DSM Pharmaceutical Products

Dr. Utiger officially assumes responsibility for DSM Pharmaceutical Products, the contract manufacturing organization of Royal DSM, effective October 1, 2013.

Headquartered in Parsippany, NJ (USA), the DSM Pharmaceutical Products business group includes DSM Biologics/BioSolutions, DSM Pharma Chemicals, DSM Exclusive Synthesis & Intermediates, and DSM Pharmaceuticals with operations in the US, Europe and Australia.

A Swiss national bringing twenty-five years of industry experience to DSM having managed both small and large molecule manufacturing, as well as research and development.

Most recently he was responsible for Lonza’s Bioscience division, where for more than ten years he also served on the executive committee for various divisions including the pharma contract manufacturing organization, and nutrition.

Prior to joining DSM, Dr. Utiger held various management and executive positions in the pharmaceutical, nutrition and chemical fields at Lonza and ICI Chemicals & Polymers.

He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Imperial College of London and previously studied at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich.
