Introducing SUPR

The purpose of this study is to validate the application of Getinge 50L and 250L single-use bioreactors for production by comparing them to a 2L Applikon stirred glass bioreactor running in parallel. The study used CHO cell lines for cultivation in both the 50L and 250L SUPR bioreactors, with a seed train involving 2L, 7L, and 15L Applikon stirred glass bioreactors.

The vessels were designed with proportionate geometries, including matching impeller diameters, vessel diameters, and liquid heights. Similar operational conditions were maintained across all systems, including the same stirrer type, sparge type, gassing device, and pressure settings, to ensure consistency and reliability in the comparative cultivation data.
